In the backstreets of this ancient town, the centre of Vedic learning in India to this day, I was taken to an astrologer who worked from ancient Sanskrit texts. In the course of the next hour he totally astonished me with the predictions he came up with. Up to this point I had been a determined sceptic.

Up in the Himalayas after my visit to Benares I met a Indian yogi, Ganesh Baba, who was staying in a house with several Americans and other nationalities after having made the annual pilgrimage 15,000 feet up to Armanath. He definitely had highly advanced yogic powers and though he did not think astrology was an exaxt science he was obviously a supporter of its insights.

While I was talking to him one day, an American woman of about 25 walked into the room. For some reason, I could see very clearly from the waves of energy that she gave off that there was an area in her side which was distorted. It was very obvious something had happened, I asked her if she had been shot, she said 'yes', an intruder had shot her boyfriend and her, but she survived. No doubt she was in India trying to make sense of such a traumatic event.

Anyway, it opened up my eyes to the underlying energies that surround us, and demonstrated how the universal energy fields impact on our local energy fields. It was actually she who predicted quite rightly that I would get very interested in astrology.

Astrology describes the universal or cosmic energies which surround us. Of that I am sure. Six months later, I was back in Benares, having travelled around the country, and spoken with some of the yogis who are still India's greatest contribution to knowledge. By this time I was well into Indian life. At 5am each day I would go to one of the temples where they gave out some vegetarian soup, the rest of the day was given to exploring the ancient city. Slowly I had become aware of the forces moulding our lives, an essential requisite for appreciating the forces at work in life which astrology describes.

I added to this knowledge once back in England through many books and the teachings of the Druids, but it was only with advent of computers that it became possible to distil all this information into an easily comprehensible computer program.
